Automation

The use of technology to perform tasks without human intervention, often to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

Canvas

Also known as: Working area

A section of the scheme editor interface where users interact with specific tools, data, or settings relevant to their task.

EMD

Also known as: Electronic Miscellaneous Document; Object of processing

A digital document used to collect payment for optional services (e.g., baggage, seat upgrades) not included in the ticket.

Endorsement

A text on an airline ticket or pricing record that indicates applicable fare rules, restrictions, or conditions of use. It may contain information such as change and refund limitations, reissue instructions, or references to agreements between carriers. Endorsement is used to guide agents and airlines during ticket processing and servicing.

GDS

Also known as: Global distribution system

A network that enables travel agencies and companies to access and book airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, and other travel services in real time.

Instance

Also known as: Instance row, Instance line

A specific, individual execution or version of a process, workflow, or system setup.

Instance row

Also known as: Instance, Instance line

A specific row in the Instance table on the Reservation Processing page, representing key metrics, statuses, and controls for managing the system.

Notifications

Important updates related to GDS access, email delivery services, and system releases. Notifications also include announcements about new features and improvements.

OID

Also known as: Office ID

An alphanumeric identifier used in some GDSs (e.g., Amadeus) to designate a specific office or branch of a travel agency.

Operational office

The PCC/Office ID used by the scheme to process the PNR or document.

PCC

Also known as: Pseudo city code

A unique alphanumeric identifier assigned by a GDS to a travel agency or office location, used to manage bookings and track activity.

PNR

Also known as: Passenger name record; Object of processing

A record in a travel system that contains booking details for a passenger or group of passengers.

Post-booking

The phase of customer interaction that occurs after a booking is made, including payment, confirmations, and any additional services or modifications.

Pricing record

A pricing record is a stored fare calculation used as the basis for ticket issuance. In different GDSs, it is referred to differently: -TST (Transitional Stored Ticket) in Amadeus, -PQ (Price Quote) in Sabre, -FF (stored Fare File) in Galileo.

Profitability

The ability of a system or business to generate profit relative to its costs and expenses.

Reservation processing

Also known as: PNR processing

The process of overseeing and managing customer bookings, including modifications, cancellations, and updates.

Scheme

Also known as: Workflow, process

A visual or logical representation of a workflow, showing the sequence of stages and steps.

Scheme editor

Also known as: Workspace

A workspace that enables users to create and edit automation schemes.

An individual action or task within a stage, often sequential and automated.

Ticketing office

The PCC/Office ID where tickets are issued and ticketing actions are performed.

Tour code

A reference code associated with specific fare agreements, typically used for negotiated, private, or promotional fares. It is included in the ticket or pricing record to identify the applicable contract, track sales, and ensure correct fare application, reporting, and settlement between the airline and the agency or partner.

Trava tool

Also known as: Trava app

Trava is a web platform that streamlines airline booking operations. It works with GDS data and allows agents to quickly process exchanges, refunds, and schedule changes through an easy-to-use interface.

Waiver code

A waiver code is an authorization provided by an airline that allows deviations from the standard fare rules when processing ticket changes, exchanges, or refunds. When applied, it can permit actions such as waiving change fees, allowing itinerary modifications, or processing refunds outside the original fare restrictions, typically in cases of schedule changes, disruptions, or special airline policies.

Workflow

Also known as: Scheme, process

A sequence of tasks or processes that are carried out to complete a particular service or business function.
